Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, wrote in her new memoir that she was too loyal to Donald Trump to be subjected to a campaign of lies.

Yovanovitch, who served as ambassador from 2016 to 2019, agreed to tape a statement showing her solidarity with Trump but then decided not to release it, even though her job was under threat.

She wrote that she couldn't make the loyalty pledge fit for her because she wanted to keep her integrity intact.

Yovanovitch thought that the statement was degrading and wrong.

Yovanovitch was recalled from the Ukranian because of fears that she would stop the efforts to dig up dirt on Joe Biden. In exchange for an investigation into Biden and his son, Trump caused his first impeachment.
