Dubai International (DXB) To Close Northern Runway For 45 Days

The northern runway of the airport will be closed for 45 days between 09 May and 22 June, 2022.

The hub will continue to welcome visitors during this period as it is a dual runway operation. A number of flights will be diverted to the second airport in the city to limit the impact on service.

A complete closing of the runway is required for an upgrade such as the one planned. The last time this level of work was done on the northern runway was in 2014, while the southern runway underwent similar improvements in 2019.

Free Parking and Shuttle Bus to DWC

The airport has complimentary parking for passengers from DWC. There will be a complimentary bus service between the two airports every 30 minutes.

flydubai to operate from both DXB and DWC

flydubai will operate flights to select destinations from DWC in order to provide more travel options to passengers during the northern runway refurbishment project. The rehabilitation project will take place from May to June.

During the period of the refurbishment project, flydubai will operate flights to 34 destinations. The flights to all other flydubai destinations will operate from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

flydubai will resume flights to all destinations from the airport after the runway refurbishment project is complete.

Passengers are advised to check their departure and arrival airports to make sure they have the correct information.

The northern runway refurbishment project will take place from May to June of 2022. The destinations marked with an asterisk will be available from both DWC and DXB during this period.
