To many, he was an award-winning music producer. He was a devoted father, uncle, husband and sibling.

Julie Stande said that her brother died after an accident at his home.

She said that he was the best father. He was the best man in the world.

A father of five young, school-aged girls, Hancock was a man. He and his wife decided to move to Framingham because they wanted a big backyard for their children. A pool, trampoline, and a lot of other things made the backyard a great place for children.

Jared Hancock, left, of Framingham, pictured here with his family, died Sunday after a fall. A GoFundMe page has been started to raise money to help the family.

Musicians near and far express sorrow

Musicians here and abroad expressed their sadness this week after learning of the death of Hancock.

Kevin Holness wrote on his Facebook page that he and Hancock had just released his album and that he had worked on it.

Holness wrote that before he got the news, he was going to call you and tell you how great the album is, and how thankful he was to have you in his corner. You always told me to keep working and pushing, no days off. From the mobile studio to the Surefire headquarters, we created some mystical, musical magic. Gonna miss you brother.

On her Facebook page, London-based singer and head of the Hayley Griffiths Band, wrote about how she was persuaded to give music a try.

It was ironic that the first song we wrote together was called "Jay was like a big brother to me, always at the end of the phone with a motivational, inspiring speech or simply to listen and support me through challenging times." He co-wrote and produced every single track on my Silver Screen album, and a few have gone on to feature in HGB's show.

Surefire Creative Studios announced the death of Hancock on Monday.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our dear friend and co-founder of Surefire Creative Studios. Along with his role at Surefire,Jared will be remembered as an amazing father, son, brother, mentor and friend to many people.
