The so-called "gay" dog that was given up by its owners over perceived homosexual behavior has a new home and a new name.

Steve and John adopted Fezco Tuesday after hearing the story about him getting abandoned by his former human parents.

Both John and Nichols have faced discrimination in their own lives, so they felt an immediate connection to Fezco. They applied and were chosen.

Now, get this. Fezco has a new doggy tag, now called Oscar, instead of his old name. They chose that to honor Oscar Wilde, who was also gay.

The dog was not neutered and had heart worms, which he is taking care of now by sending Oscar straight to him.

The application wanted to make sure that whoever would embrace Oscar would be committed to nursing him back to health, and both he and John certainly are. Morgan Fogarty broke the news that Oscar was available.

The couple already have a dog named Harry, who is a Terrier-Chihuahua mix. They think their two boys will get along.

Enjoy your new life, Fez/Oscar!
