One day after Kenny Pickett had his pro day at Pittsburgh, there was a new face in the spotlight.

The star quarterback took part in Liberty's pro day as he looks to improve his stock for the NFL draft.

The returns from his performance seem to show that he did himself a lot of favors. He completed 64 of 69 passes in a scripted workout.

Impressive showing by Malik Willis. Completed 64 of 69 in his scripted workout. Three drops, two overthrows. And the ball was coming out of his hands hot.

The workout was designed to show the arm talent of the man.

This was not a surprise for anyone who has followed the college career of Willis.

B/R's Nate Tice had an opinion on the scouting report that Willis threw his arm in.

"When Willis is in rhythm, his arm strength pops off the screen. He throws a catchable deep ball and can drive intermediate throws into tight spaces. When he's able to anticipate throws—usually on the outside or on RPOs—he flashes good accuracy. Willis is able to easily break a defense’s contain with his agility and burst, and he has the ability to flip his hips and change arm angles when throwing on the move while also remaining accurate."

The ability to throw in rhythm and play in the pocket have been the focus of the questions about Willis.

Tice noted that Willis will work his way back in the pocket too often, which will be punished at the NFL level.

Even though there are some big questions left to be answered, it seems that the No. 1 quarterback in the draft class is Willis. The consensus favorite among NFL front offices is the 22-year-old, according to Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus.

Few have helped themselves in the predraft process more than Malik Willis

In his latest mock draft, Mel Kiper Jr. had Willis going to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The smoke could have some fire to it, as the head coach and general manager were in attendance. Rhule was on the Lynchburg, Virginia, campus.

Several teams in need of a long-term solution at quarterback have put themselves in a position to potentially select one early in the first round.

The Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Carolinas, Atlanta Falcons, and Seattle Seahawks don't have a proven starter at quarterback.

There seems to be no doubt that the potential for stardom is there, despite the fact that he has a long way to go with his development. He needs to find a coach who will give him the time he needs to develop his skills at the NFL level.
