A Judge Has Ended Amanda Bynes' Conservatorship

The judge terminated the Bynes' legal arrangement just weeks after she filed paperwork to end the arrangement that put her mother in control of her life.

Last month, Bynes petitioned the Ventura County Superior Court to end her conservatorship. Bynes believes that her condition is better and that protection of the court is no longer necessary, according to her attorney.

According to her attorney, Lynn Bynes was very proud of her daughter and the progress she has made.

Lynn looks forward to seeing the next chapter in her daughter's life as her mother.

Judge Roger L. Lund told those present that Bynes had done everything the court had asked of her.

The court placed Bynes under the control of her parents in the fall of 2013 after she was hospitalized for a mental health evaluation. Bynes had been arrested in New York City after police said they caught her throwing a bong out the window of her apartment. In 2012 she was charged with driving under the influence after she clipped a sheriff deputy's cruiser.

Bynes, who became famous as a child actor with her All That spinoff, stayed out of the public eye over the course of the court-mandated arrangement. Bynes case received renewed attention during Britney Spears fight to be freed from her conservatorship last year.
