The ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos donated $436 million to Habitat for Humanity on Tuesday, making her the largest publicly disclosed donation of her wealth.

Habitat for Humanity International and 84 of its affiliates will be able to continue their vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live as a result of the donation.
The donation will be used to increase the supply of affordable housing over the next three to four years.
Grants for its affiliates, research efforts to preserve home affordability and the nonprofit's global work will be supported by additional funding.
The gift will have a multi-generational impact on communities around the U.S. and Habitat for Humanity's global mission for years to come.

She donated $281 million to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and contributed an amount to the Co-Impact Gender Fund, which is aiming to raise $1 billion to advance gender equality and women's leadership.
She received 25% of Bezos stake when Scott and Bezos divorced. She signed the Giving Pledge in order to give away most of her wealth during her lifetime. She said in her letter that her approach to philanthropy would remain thoughtful and that she would keep at it until the safe was empty.
Habitat Philadelphia will get $5 million of the $436 million gift.
