Oakland Hills Country Club, which was destroyed in a fire last month, will host the U.S. Open in 2034 and 2051.
The USGA made an announcement at the Detroit Athletic Club. The governing body says Oakmont Country Club will host the major in 2033.
Oakland Hills has hosted six U.S. Opens and has been trying for years to get a seventh. The club has hosted a number of important golf events, including three PGA Championships and the 2004 Ryder Cup.
When Ben Hogan won the U.S. Open in 1951, he said he brought this course to its knees.
The multistory clubhouse at Oakland Hills was ravaged by fire on February 17. It was built in 1922 and was home to art from the nine major championship.
Maintenance workers used a propane torch before the fire ravaged the club. According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, Oakland Hills estimates the loss of the club to be about $80 million.
Video appears to show workers using a garden hose to douse a small fire in a wall. The cause of the fire could be found next month, but there could be criminal charges.
Oakland Hills is about 20 miles from Detroit. The club will host the U.S. Women's Opens in 2031 and 2042, as well as eight USGA Championships from 2024 to 2051.
