With the Los Angeles Lakers having a flat-lining season experiencing a bit of a blip with Monday's 131-120 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, James says he still has something left to play for.

James said after the Lakers finished their four-game road trip by winning two of their final three that he was having the time of his life.

Even though the Lakers are playing better, they are still ninth in the Western Conference, one game behind the New Orleans and San Antonio Spurs.

James has a 17-1 record against his former team, but he is locked into the moment his team finds itself in.

With four championship and 10 trips to the NBA Finals on his resume, why does the star still find purpose with a team just hoping to get into the play-in tournament?

James said that he couldn't care less what the narrative was about the team. I don't hear much about it. I'm having a blast playing basketball, nothing else matters to me.

The Lakers beat two playoff teams in Toronto and Cleveland and narrowly lost to Washington, but coach Frank Vogel said that James played well and averaged 37.3 points on 57.1% shooting.

This league is not pleasant to be around when things don't go the way you want them to.

On Monday, James was able to relish in the glory days. He received a lengthy, rousing ovation from the Cleveland crowd when the videoboard acknowledged that he passed Karl Malone to become the NBA's second all-time scorer. He welcomed his old teammate, Kevin Love.

He dunked him.

James said that he hated that it had to be him. That is my brother. I hope I get invited to the wedding. I will take it out because that is not in my all-time dunks. I did not mean it. I love you and take it back. I wish I could have taken those two points back, but we still won the game by nine.

James had that cushion thanks to his 20 points, 11 assists, and D.J. Augustin's 20 points on 7-for-7 shooting.

Augustin said that they feel like they are a great team and can do something special. Get into the playoffs. Make a run in the playoffs. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks if we believe in each other.

The doubters have commented on the Lakers troubles all season long, and Westbrook wants to prove them wrong.

He said that shutting people up was nothing better than that.

The Lakers have six of their final 10 games on the road and the home games are not good, with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Denver Nuggets coming to town.

James said he would play with a lot of passion, a lot of energy, give his teammates what they needed, and hopefully stay injury-free for the rest of the season. We leave everything on the floor so you can control what you want. Just my thoughts.
