Kevin Durant knows a future Hall of Famer when he sees one, and he believes Ja Morant is next in line as one of the game's greats.
When you have a future Hall of Famer at the head of the snake, it makes everyone better, according to KD.
As he watches Morant play night after night, Kevin says he sees some of the game's all-time greats.
The greatest players in our game can transform into anyone at any time. Ja is on the way to that. I can see at least two or three different Hall of Famers in his game. He could make a Michael Jordan-like layup, or he could run down the court like Russell Westbrook.
His float game is some of the best that has ever been played. I think the sky is the limit for him since we are playing against him. His future is bright. He makes everybody better, so it's about the level you approach that game with and I am looking forward to it.
On a nightly basis, he reaches his own rarefied air. He passed Jerry West on the NBA's all-time leading scorers list with 37 points in Monday's win. After spending time with West while with the Golden State Warriors a few years ago, KD called it an honor to be in the same company as the great.
In the short term, he is not surprised Morant has led the team to so much success. He is looking forward to facing the young and hungry group that the Grizzlies have built around Morant.
They have a bunch of guys with chips on their shoulders, and they are well-coached. I think they have a good mix of players.
