Let the Riccissance continue! Christina Ricci made it possible for the project she joined after dazzling in Yellowjackets and The Matrix Resurrections. Ricci has joined the cast of Tim Burton's upcoming series Wednesday, which will feature a character she shot to cult status with in the 1990s.
The streaming service confirmed the casting of Christina Ricci as a new character in the Wednesday Addams series. There is no word on who Ricci plays but it is not Wednesday and it is not some time- travel older Wednesday. It's not the character of Morticia Addams, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. The only information about the role is that it's a series regular that's taking over for someone who had to leave the production due to a personal matter. Ricci isn't playing the same character but a new one who is similar to the one originally played by Birch and will replace it on the show.
What was already an exciting show gets a whole new level of legitimacy with her involvement. The series was being directed by Tim Burton. Ricci played the character in two films. Ricci's performance in the popular animated films has been held in high regard by fans. Her reunion with the director of the show could be something special.
