The feature drop for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will begin today, according to Matt Flegal, a spokesman for the company. The update for the Pixel 3A and 5A was supposed to be released on March 7th but was pushed back to address bug fixes.

The update also brings a number of bug fixes, including the stability and performance of the fingerprint sensor, as well as the battery and thermal performance of the Pixel 6 phones. There is a promised fix for a bug that causes the wi-fi to randomly stop working. The ultra-wideband frequencies that the carrier lit up in January will be available on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.

I don't blame the company for being extra careful, as it's not that surprising that the update for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro was delayed. The track record of pushing updates to its flagship phones has been troubling so far. The December update for the Pixel 6 devices was paused last year after users reported issues with dropped calls and an amended version of the update went live in January. The February update didn't go well for everyone.

The hope is that this update won't ruin anything new.
