The world's biggest contract manufacturer of electronics says it has resumed normal operations in Shenzhen after a partial shutdown. The company said in a statement that it has resumed normal work order and production at its Longhua and Guanlan factories. Employees in Futian, a district of Shenzhen, are being told to work from home.
The company re-opened a week after suspending operations in the city because of a spike in infections. China has been following a strict zero-COVID strategy since the beginning of the Pandemic, The Guardian reports. The country reported its first two coronaviruses deaths in over a year on Saturday, bringing the country's death toll to 4,638 since the beginning of the Pandemic.
The Shenzhen shutdown isn't likely to have a huge impact on Apple's production. The majority of the production of the iPhone in the country is believed to be in Zhengzhou, according to a report.
