The attack on Ukraine went badly for Putin. It has been more than three weeks since the invasion was expected to be a success. Russia's army appears to be a paper tiger, as it has failed to achieve air superiority. Europe has less of a reason to fear Russia than they did at the beginning of the year. The rest of the world can't shut this down because of their nuclear weapons.

As the Ukranians struggle to fend off Russian advances, the aggressor forces have become desperate and brutal.

Blood on the main square of Kherson. Looks like Russian occupation forces opened fire at a peaceful protest, after dispersing previous ones by shooting in the air and throwing flash-bangs. pic.twitter.com/PdGjoEvEQF

By some estimates, GDP is down by a third because of the grinding to a halt in the Eastern part of the country. Ukraine International Airlines is trying to keep itself afloat and its employees working in safety.

The nation's flag carrier is marketing wet leases of its grounded fleet. They are working to get airlines around the world to pay them to use their aircraft. According to the airline.

UIA now has the opportunity to offer airlines and partners to join the economic support of Ukraine, taking advantage of the availability of UIA aircraft for charter and humanitarian flights outside Ukraine and concluding “wet leasing” agreements.

The airline will not be able to resume full operations until the fighting stops and the airline is able to resume commercial service.

The airline's fleet consists of 16 Boeing planes, 2 Boeing planes, and 5 Embraer planes.

Despite a lack of aircraft and even insufficient flight attendants and pilots, U.S. carriers will not be able to take advantage of this opportunity due to union contracts. The restrictions should be suspended for national security reasons.

Ukraine was beautiful. It will become great now.

We will win. There will be new cities. There will be new dreams. There will be a new story. There will be, there’s no doubt. And those we've lost will be remembered.

And we will sing again, and we will celebrate anew.#Ukraine #всебудеУкраїна #героямслава pic.twitter.com/j6wkvAbr2q

Ukrainian flight attendants are promoting a NATO no fly zone on social media. The Russian Air Force is less capable than thought, but still poses a threat. This would allow Ukranian air superiority. They argue that NATO has a no fly zone.

European sanctions mean that more than half of Russian airlines' planes are at risk of being taken over. They are illegal and void because they are leased. There aren't enough crews to take planes back within 30 days.

Delta Air Lines suspended codeshare with Aeroflot, which is owned by the Russian government. I was surprised it took so long. There appears to be little sympathy for the invasion of Ukraine by Putin.
