The master plan for the company was revealed in 2006 by Musk, who envisions the company developing over the next decade or so. The second part of the master plan was revealed 10 years later. He is working on the third part.

On Monday, Musk shared some hints about what this third part of his master plan will look like.

Musk said that the main subjects of the company will be scaling to extreme size, which is needed to shift humanity away from fossil fuels.

The first part of Musk's master plan has become reality and is worth paying attention to.

Here is a recap. Musk said in his original plan that he wanted to build a sports car and then use the money to build an affordable car. The execution hit a few speed bumps along the way, like the production hell and Model 3 delays.

The second part of the master plan has not gone well. It included launching a Semi truck, a Solar Roof, and a fleet of fully autonomously driving vehicles.

One thing that has been going well, however, is sales of currently available Tesla models, and it appears that Musk plans to leverage that success to scale the company to extreme size.

Musk mentioning his other companies, including The Boring Company, might indicate that he is planning to round them all up under one big umbrella company.
