Ugo Monye says that the Rugby Football Union's claim that England made progress during the Six Nations is dishonest.

England scored fewer tries in the second championship than they did in the first.

Monye told the Rugby Union Daily that he wanted to know who in the RFU thought that meant progress and were happy with how things were.

It is just dishonest. There is no progress.

Eddie Jones has faced calls to resign after England finished in third place following a 25-13 defeat by France.

An unnamed RFU spokesman said that the Australian is building a new England team against a clear strategy and that it continues to support Eddie.

The spokesman said that a full review would be conducted after each tournament.

The RFU are trying to get the press off Eddie Jones.

It is not honest. Italy will see two wins as progress. This is not progress for England.

Monye said that someone in power at the RFU should have taken responsibility for England's poor performance in the Six Nations.

He felt sad for some of the players because they weren't getting the right direction.

You cannot win two out of five games in a row with the financial backing and the coaching staff. He said it was appalling, unimaginable, and unacceptable.

England talk about showing great spirit and fighting against Ireland and France, but you expect that to be a baseline. They were a long way behind France.

France finished top of the 2022 Six Nations with Ireland second, England third, Scotland fourth, Wales fifth and Italy sixth

'England disrespecting the Six Nations'

Jones has said that he sees England's losses as learning experiences for younger players with the World Cup in France in mind, but Warburton said that England had not placed enough emphasis on the Six Nations.

He said on the Rugby Union Special that it was not about the World Cup right now.

It is disrespectful to say that we are building to the World Cup next year. It is about winning the Six Nations. I don't like buying time and talking.

The former captain of the British and Irish Lions said he was perplexed by the decline of England.

The World Cup semi-final win against New Zealand was probably the best performance England have ever produced, but I don't know how far away they are from that now.

They should be strong in the set-piece. They have amazing players like Marcus Smith and Harry Randall and should be a great team, but they 888-492-0 888-492-0 888-492-0s so far.

They are behind where they were for the World Cup.

The return of injured players such as captain Owen Farrell, and others, would solve England's problems, but was questioned by a former Scotland captain.

Eddie Jones said he wanted to unleash an expansive and attacking brand of rugby.

England are changing their style of play and it is not clicking at the moment.
