During a speech at Mar-a-Lago, former President Donald Trump mocked Sen. Lindsey Graham.
There are a couple of senators. At the Lincoln Day dinner held by the Palm Beach County GOP at Mar-a-Lago, Trump said, "We have our progressive senator from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham."
He is a progressive, but he is our progressive, said Trump.
The mocking of Graham came a day after news broke that Graham may have threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office during the Capitol riot.
This was excerpted from a new book by New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns. Graham made a threat to White House counsel Pat Cipollone during the riot, according to Martin and Burns.
Graham and Trump have had disagreements in recent months. In January, he criticized Trump for suggesting pardons for Capitol rioters.
This prompted Trump to call Graham a RINO, or Republican-in-name-only, a term usually reserved for Trump adversaries.
Graham was the one who talked Trump out of doing a press conference on the anniversary of the Capitol riot. In January, Graham said he would not back McConnell for Senate GOP leader unless he had a working relationship with Trump.
