The Supreme Court announced Sunday evening that Justice Clarence Thomas had been diagnosed with an infection after he was hospitalized for flu-like symptoms.

The Supreme Court said that Thomas is being treated with antibiotics at a hospital in Washington, D.C. Thomas expects to be out of the hospital in a day or two.

Thomas will be involved in the consideration and discussion of any cases for which he is not present on the basis of the briefs, transcripts, and audio of the oral arguments.
