The Los Angeles Chargers have agreed to a contract with free-agent tight end Gerald Everett.
SportsTrust Advisors did not reveal terms of the announcement.
The team has a chance to get younger at the position and maintain the same level of production with the help of the 27 year old Everett.
In his first season as a No. 1 tight end, he caught 48 passes for 478 yards and four touchdown, all career highs.
Cook had 48 catches for 564 yards and four touchdown.
In a December win over the San Francisco 49ers, there was a disastrous game in which he lost two turnovers and fumbled a would-be touchdown. He missed two games while on the list.
After playing behind Tyler Higbee with the Los Angeles Rams, Everett signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
In 76 regular-season games, the second-round draft pick has caught 175 passes for 1,866 yards and 12 touchdown.
