Ohio State won the women's Frozen Four.
The Ohio State men's basketball team won the first title in program history on Sunday, defeating Minnesota-Duluth in the championship game. Ohio State was the top-seeded team in the tournament for the first time ever.
The result came in crushing fashion for the unseeded Bulldogs, who last won a championship in 2010. Kenzie Hauswirth was credited with the game-winning score, but her shot went off a defender and into the net.
The best player throughout the tournament was Soderberg. She turned in a 33 save performance in the final.
The Buckeyes were the top team in the nation for a reason.
The Ohio State women's hockey team took a 2-0 lead in the second period on a power-play goal by Paetyn Levis.
It was Rogge who made it 2-2 in the middle frame after a tip of Kailee Skinner's shot. The double-overtime game winner against Northeastern was scored by Rogge.
Both sides started the third period in dramatic fashion. Less than a minute into the game, Soderberg left her net to play the puck, but she mishandled it, allowing Ohio State to score.
It would not last. The title game was tied 2-2 when Elizabeth Giguere wristed a shot over the glove of Thiele.
Soderberg was up to the task despite Ohio State keeping the pressure on. She stopped one goal and stoned another on a break.
The weird bounce off Fuhrman gave Ohio State a lead it wouldn't relinquish.
Levis was named the Most Outstanding Player after the win.
