Having helped bring properties like DotA 2 and Castlevania to TV, Netflix is once again turning to a historic gaming franchise to add to its content library. On Saturday, the streamer announced that it would release an animated adaption of the popular fighting game series in 2022. In the trailer, we are introduced to Jin Kazama, who joined the franchise as a playable character in 1996's Tekken 3. When his mother falls to a demon, Kazama goes on a quest for revenge. Heihachi Mishima was subsequently contacted by Kazama for help. If old man Mishima gives off a sinister vibe, it's because he's the main villain of the Tekken franchise. There are some familiar faces at The King of Iron Fist Tournament. We don't have an exact release date for the game because we don't know when it will come out. The track record with video game adaptation has mostly depended on the companies it has partnerships with. Thanks to the involvement of studios like Fortiche and Studio Mir, the company has been able to produce productions like Arcane and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
