We had the chance to check out the Hawaiian Airlines Plumeria Lounge prior to our flight from Honolulu to Kona. It's sad that this is also the lounge for international business class passengers of Hawaiian Airlines.
The Plumeria Lounge is located at the airport. The lounge is located in the same area as gate A18, and you can follow the signs to get there once you have cleared security.
You should see signs for the Plumeria Lounge eventually.
The entrance to the lounge is on the third floor, and you just have to take the escalator up there.
Most of the departures from the airport are covered by the Plumeria Lounge, which is open from 7AM until 6PM. The Plumeria Lounge has access.
Most of the passengers visiting this lounge do so via Priority Pass.
The Plumeria Lounge is just over 3000 square feet, so it isn't big enough for a lot of passengers. The lounge is described as a special place for guests to relax and share memories of the sights, sounds, and flavors of the Islands.
When we arrived at the lounge, there were barely any empty seats. The lounge has a lot of seats that are intended for relaxing, along with a communal table.
There are a lot of dining tables on the other side of the lounge.
There is a sitting area near the entrance. There were no open seats in the lounge when we arrived. I guess this is usually reserved for Hawaiian Airlines international business class passengers, and the flight had just left, so they opened this space.
The Plumeria Lounge has one of the most basic food spreads I have ever seen at a Priority Pass lounge.
The lounge had a variety of snacks and drinks.
There are instant noodles with hot water for those expecting hot meals.
The drink selection was impressive, with a soda fountain, coffee machine, and ice machine.
There was some wine that was self-serving.
POG juice and water were available in little cups. You have to drink four ounces at a time.
The lounge had some Hawaiian POG hard seltzer, which seems like a cute touch. There was also a beer from Maui.
The lounge's bathroom was well maintained, but it was small given how many people were in it. There were no shower facilities.
The only reason I can think of is that the Plumeria Lounge is worth a visit if you really want a beverage. In terms of sitting in comfort, you will find a lot more space and better views in the terminal.
The IASS Lounge is worse than the Priority Pass lounges at the airport, so I would still consider this to be the better lounge. Hawaiian Airlines has the primary space for international business class passengers in the lounge.
What was your experience at the Plumeria Lounge?
