Iryna told The Guardian that it felt "awful" to have the soldiers at her husband's sickbed. She had to seek assistance because her husband had no painkillers and his leg was mangled.

She told the soldiers that she and her husband had been injured and needed things like blankets and duvets. A Russian medic changed her husband's bandages and left.

The Russian soldiers said that the Ukrainians injured him.

I had seen the Russians' eye to eye, 20m away from us. He told The Guardian that he was in the next apartment block.

According to The Guardian, Lysovysk is in a hospital south of Kyiv and faces complex surgery to regain use of his leg, six days after he was shot.
