The new five-part miniseries, Jane Foster, was announced before the weekend. Jane, who has been a Valkyrie for the last few years if you haven't kept up, will team up with the God of the Universe in a new comic from writer Torunn Grnbekk and artist Michael Dowling. Jane can't help but take up the mantle of the mighty THOR and work with her friend to push them back despite the fact that she almost died from using Mjolnir.

The hammer has undergone some changes since Jane picked it up. The essence of Mjolnir was fused with Mangog after Jane gave up her powers to throw the beast into the sun. In the current God of Hammers comic book, Thor had to use his father's powerful weapon to bring down Mangog.

It's possible that Jane Thor will keep the hammer once this series is over, since she became very popular. It feels like the characters in the comics are more comfortable sharing their names than they were a few years ago. It feels right that Jane gets some comics to go along with her big screen promotion since the MCU is slowly bringing in more legacy heroes.

This June, Jane Foster will start the show.
