Jin Kazama is the focus of the game. Jin wants revenge for the death of his mother Jun at the hands of an apparent demon, and the only way to get it is to seek out training from his grandfather, Heihachi Mi. Longtime fans know that Heihachi is the big bad of the entire franchise, but he is willing to help his grandson become powerful by beating the living hell out of him.
Jin's quest for revenge will lead him to the King of Iron Fist Tournament, a competition that underpins the entire Tekken franchise. At the tournament, he will get to meet a number of characters from the history of the game, including the King, Paul Phoenix, and the DLC fighter.
One of the first fighting games to use 3D animation was Tekken, and later games included the ability to move away or towards the camera to create the feeling of real 3D environments rather than moving vertically across the screen. The trailer captures the feeling of the games as the camera pans around characters preparing to fight, or swings towards someone right as they are about to be hit in the face.
Like other fighting franchises, including Mortal Kombat, Tekken has had a penchant for non- video game medium throughout its 28-year history. In 1998 there was a two-part series called Tekken: The Motion Picture, which was adapted from the movie of the same name. An alternate version of Tekken 5 and 6 was released in 2011. There was a live action adaptation of the movie in 2009.
Bloodline will be released on the streaming service later this year.
