According to Mark Gurman, the new MacBook Air will likely not be released until later this year, and the new MacBook Pro models will likely not be released until later in the decade.
Gurman said in his newsletter that Apple originally planned to launch its new Macintosh Air with MagSafe, the M2 chip, and an all-new design.
The new MacBook Air is expected to be mass produced in the second or third quarter of this year, according to an Apple analyst.
Gurman said that he doesn't expect Apple to update its high-end 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models this year. Gurman said that the only MacBook Pro update this year will be a refreshed entry-level MacBook Pro with a 13-inch display.
Launching a series of new Macs with the M2 chip could be similar to how Apple unveiled the M1 chip. The entry-level iMac, iPad Pro, and Mac mini are viable candidates for the job.
