Many leaders in the West are questioning whether Putin miscalculated the invasion of Ukraine, as Alexander Lukashenko praised his close ally in an interview on Saturday.

Lukashenko said in an interview that the West should get this stupidity out of their heads.

Putin is in better shape than ever. He said that this is a completely sane, healthy person and that he will catch a cold at all our funerals.

Since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, US officials have raised questions about Putin's mental state. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Putin may be irrational, and that he appeared to be thinking.

Lukashenko said he is very close to the Russian president.

Lukashenko said during the interview that they are on friendly terms.

Russia is a close ally of the former Soviet Republic of Belarus. The dissolution of the Soviet Union was a talking point that Lukashenko echoed during the interview.

He said that the world was multipolar and one pole balanced the other.

The US House of Representatives passed a bill that would suspend normal trade relations with Russia. It needs to pass the Senate and be signed by the president.
