Sources confirmed to ESPN on Saturday night that the Los Angeles Rams have traded wide receiver Robert Woods to the TennesseeTitans in exchange for a sixth-round pick.

Woods tore his knee and was due a $3.5 million bonus from the Rams. Los Angeles signed free agent receiver Allen Robinson to a three-year, $45 million contract last Thursday.

The acquisition of Woods gives the team a viable option as the second wide receiver. The state of Tennessee released Jones on Wednesday. The move saved the cap space. Woods has a salary cap of $13.5 million. The receiver signed a four-year $65 million contract with the Rams. He doesn't have a dead cap hit in the remaining years of his contract.

Woods, a second-round choice by the Buffalo Bills in the 2013 draft, had 45 catches for 556 yards and four touchdown for the Super Bowl champion before suffering a major knee injury. He was a key part of the offense early on, but only played in nine games as the Rams built up chemistry with Matthew Stafford. Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. became Stafford's primary targets.

Woods spoke with reporters prior to the Super Bowl and expressed his appreciation for the playoffs.

Woods said recently that he was able to overcome the feeling of not being a part of the team. I feel like I was able to get past that and enjoy the whole experience.

Stafford was praised for the attitude and approach Woods took through the journey.

He said that Robert Woods is the L.A. Rams. The attention to detail is something I think about. I think about all of the things that we talk about as a team and how we want to be. That is bottled up into one person.

Few guys on our team care more about other guys than Robert Woods.

For his career, Woods has 7,077 receiving yards and 35 touchdown catches.
