Sources told Jeff Passan that the Miami Marlins and Soler had reached an agreement on a three-year, $36 million contract.

Sources said that Soler has opt-outs after the first two seasons. Soler would hit free agency at age 31 if he opts out.

Soler was a bit player during the Chicago Cubs victory over Cleveland five years ago, but he was voted the most valuable player of the World Series. Soler had a.300 batting average with three home runs.

The three home runs by Soler matched the most for the Braves, equaling Hank Aaron in 1957 and Ryan Klesko in 1995.

The second World Series Most Valuable Player from the island nation was Soler, who had a Cuban flag draped around him.

After defecting from Cuba, Soler agreed to a $30 million nine-year contract with the Cubs. He was dealt to the Kansas City Royals in September of 2016 for Wade Davis, who was a relief pitcher.

Soler had 48 home runs and 178 strikeouts in the American League. The Royals dealt the 29-year-old outfielder to the Braves for a minor league pitcher on July 30 last year.

MLB Network reported that Soler had an agreement with Miami.
