According to Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns are expected to sign quarterback Jacoby Brissett to a one-year deal.

The Houston Texans traded three first-round picks and more to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for backup quarterback Deshaun Watson. A new five-year extension was signed by Cleveland.

Case Keenum was traded to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a seventh-round pick.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com said that Baker Mayfield requested a trade.

Although he could face a suspension during the upcoming season after 22 women accused him of sexual assault and misconduct, he would be the clear No. 1 when active. According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, teams are expecting a six-game suspension under the league's personal-conduct policy.

If he is moved, he would be a quality No. 2 on the depth chart.

He has made 37 starts in his career with three different organizations, including five starts with the Miami Dolphins in 2021. He played in 11 games last season and finished with 1,283 passing yards, five touchdown and four interceptions.

In the last two years, most of the playing time has come with the Indianapolis Colts. He had 2,942 passing yards with 18 touchdown and six interceptions. He added four more scores that season.

This type of production would likely be enough to succeed with the Browns, who had the top rushing attack and a defense that ranked fifth in yards allowed. Simply avoiding turnovers is enough to get the team back in the playoffs.
