Russian security and military forces kidnapped a Ukrainian journalist covering the Russian offensive in the east and south of Ukraine, according to the office of the Prosecutor General.

The Prosecutor General's office alleged that the Russian military and the Federal Security Service kidnapped the journalist of the Ukrainian news outlet Hromadske on Tuesday in Berdyansk, an occupied port city.

A criminal investigation has been launched after the statement didn't identify the journalist. Hromadske lost contact with reporter Victoria Roshchyna last week.

The journalist was in Berdyansk at the time. On March 16, we learned that Victoria Roshchyna was taken into custody by the Russian FSB. We don't know where she is.

The Russian military and the FSB haven't commented on the allegations.
