The governor of Texas issued an emergency order in 11 counties on Friday night due to a rapidly growing wildfire that has consumed more than 50,000 acres.

The New York Times reported that over 500 people have been evacuated and 50 homes have been destroyed in central Texas because of a massive wildfire.
