Boris Johnson Panned for Comparing Ukraine Fight With Russia to Brexit

Prime Minister Boris Johnson was attacked by political opponents past and present after comparing the Ukrainian army's battle to fend off Russia with the campaign to leave the U.K.

The instinct of the people of this country, like the people of Ukraine, is to choose freedom every time, according to Johnson. They wanted to be free.

Reaction was swift. The comments were made by a former Belgian prime minister and a former minister from the opposition Labour Party.

Johnson was the leader of the campaign to leave the European Union and he has been trying to position himself as a leader in the effort to support the president of Ukraine. Zelenskiy wants EU leaders to grant him fast-track membership so he can fight the Russian invasion.
