The deal to export Scottish seed potatoes to Russia was signed by the company.

According to the Times of London, the deal with Saltire Seed came with the approval of the Scottish government. A government spokesman told The Times that it did not approve export deals.

In the coming days, 2,000 tonnes of seed potatoes will be sent to Russia. The deal is believed to be worth around $800,000.

The trader told The Times that the deal was immoral because of the invasion of Ukraine.

The company did not respond to the request for comment made outside of normal working hours.

Several major corporations have cut trade ties with Russia in recent weeks. Select beverage sales, capital investments, and all advertising in Russia have been suspended by the company.

According to a statement, the CEO of the company said it would continue to sell other products in Russia, including daily essentials such as milk and other dairy offerings.

As a food and beverage company, it must stay true to the humanitarian aspect of the business.

Iryna Terlecky, head of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, questioned the morality of the Scottish government over the deal.
