If you've never tried a White CastleImpossible, take it from a vegetarian who knows they're pretty good. The Burger King Impossible Whopper is satisfying, and is served in restaurants and grocery stores around the US.

Patrick Brown told the audience at Web Summit 2020 that his company's plant-based meat is going to get even better. He claims by the year 2035 nobody will be eating meat from slaughtered animals.

Brown said that their mission is to completely replace the use of animals as a food technology by the year 2035. We think it's doable.

Since 2011, Impossible has been around, but vegetarian foods have recently risen in popularity. White Castle made the soy-protein Slider a permanent fixture after it became an overnight sensation. Burger King introduced a meatless Whopper in 2019. They introduced a plant-based chicken to their menu this year, despite not using Impossible brand products.

Got Beef?

Climate change is one of the reasons we hope Brown's predictions come true. In a recent post on their site, Impossible used credible sources to back up their claims about how much pollution agriculture and meat animals create.

The post states that the impact of animal agriculture on the environment far exceeds that of any other technology.

Fast Company has covered the negative impacts Western-style animal agriculture has in lower-income countries, so it's not like Impossible is making a new or revolutionary statement about climate change.

The world would be better for it if Brown's company could make delicious meatless products that convert people to meat.

More on weird food.
