Dante Fowler has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.
He was released by the Atlanta Falcons on February 16. He racked up seven and a half sacks and 16 quarterback hits in his two seasons in Atlanta, with 4.5 of those sacks coming last year.
Fowler was the third overall pick in the draft. He missed the entire 2015 season because of a torn knee.
Fowler returned in 2016 and posted a great year for the Jags, amassing eight sacks and leading the team to the playoffs.
The Jags began to dismantle their roster in the middle of the year. Fowler was traded to the Los Angeles Rams before the trade deadline.
Fowler's best season was one year later, when he had his best season with 11.5 sacks, 58 tackles and 16 quarterback hits. He signed a three-year contract with Atlanta in 2020.
Fowler was asked to take a pay cut in order to find the same success in Atlanta. He was released a year later.
The former University of Florida star hopes to return to his best form in Dallas.
