There is a theme park in Lake BUENA VISTA, Fla. A performance by a Texas high school drill team that used American Indian stereotypes, including chants of "scalp them," doesn't reflect the Florida resort, according to officials at Walt Disney World.

The performance this week in the Magic Kingdom by the indianettes did not reflect our core values and we regret it.

The statement said that the tape that the school provided was inconsistent with the actual performance.

New measures have been put in place to prevent that from happening again. She didn't elaborate.

In a video of the performance posted on Twitter, members of the drill team are seen tapping their hands over their mouths and whooping, as a drum pounds in the background, in what is stereotypically called a war cry.

The Port Neches-Groves school district and Indianettes director did not return messages.

Port Neches is a refining center located near the Gulf Coast. The Indianettes have been at Port Neches-Groves High School for more than 50 years.

  • After an uproar over a performance by a cheer group at the park this week, Walt Disney World issued a statement today addressing racist stereotypes about native Americans in the drill team's routine. The drill team from The Port Neches-Groves is repeating the words.
