Luke Ayling celebrates
Luke Ayling's injury-time winner took Leeds seven points clear of the relegation zone

A last-minute winner by Luke Ayling gave Leeds a dramatic victory over 10-man Wolves and moved them seven points clear of the drop zone.

Eight minutes into the second half, there was a red card and a bizarre, breathless and breathless contest.

At that point, Wolves were cruising, ahead in the game, thanks to a goal from Jonny and a superb effort from Francisco Trincao, and facing a side forced into three injury-related first-half substitution.

The Mexican was shown a second yellow card by the referee after he collided with Illan Meslier, who was chasing a ball.

The fourth visiting player to be replaced because of injury was the keeper from Elland Road.

Wolves lost their way during the chaos. After Ayling struck a post to make it 2-1, Jack Harrison turned the loose ball into his own net.

Three minutes later, after a Dan James effort had come back off the woodwork, the ball flew in as Coady tried to clear off the line.

Ayling reacted fastest as the ball bounced on the edge of the six-yard box and smashed it home before being mobbed by ecstatic team-mates.

A protestor tried to tie themselves to the Wolves goal when the ball was at the other end of the pitch in the second half.

The stewards reacted quickly and dragged the culprit away.

Leeds triumph amid the tension

The desire for victory was seen in the melee on the touchline.

Both sets of coaching staff got into a fight, with KalvinPhillips andMarcal continuing their verbals after order had been restored.

The only one who was pumped up wasPhillips, who ran across the pitch to celebrate Ayling's win.

Bruno Lage was angry at every decision that the referee made.

Lage will realize that his side were the architects of their downfall when he cools down.

It was a challenge the Mexican did not have to make, with his side already two goals ahead, controlling the middle of the field, and running out of personnel and ideas.

Wolves had survived a couple of early scares as Joao Moutinho was running in the middle of the park and Willy Boly was outstanding at the back.

The result cost them a place in the top six.

Ruben Neves was forced off halfway through the opening period.

Bamford injury blow

The decision to replace the much-loved Marcelo Bielsa with Jesse Marsch is now looking like a masterstroke.

After six straight defeats, back-to-back last- gasp wins for only the second time this season has been a pretty impressive way to bounce back, and it looks like the top-flight future is more secure than it has been for some time.

This victory, as memorable as it was, came with a heavy price, particularly for the forward, who did not reach half-time in the third game of his comeback.

When he made his England debut at the beginning of September, he must have been looking forward to another memorable campaign after scoring 17 times on his return to the top flight.

He was out for three months due to an ankle injury that he sustained within a fortnight, and then he was out for another three months due to a hamstring problem.

He landed awkwardly as he led a charge into the Wolves penalty area.

After walking slowly back to the bench, he slumped in his seat and pulled his shirt over his head as he knew he couldn't continue.

It would have been bad enough if that had been the only injury issue Marsch had to deal with.

It was a difficult situation because he lost Diego Llorente and other players before the half-time break and Meslier after the collision.

It was no surprise that the visitors lost their way after a bright start after Klich left for a concussion substitution.

When the half-time whistle sounded, it seemed to be a brief respite from what would be a long night.

They needed a spark to ignite an amazing comeback that will send them into the international break in good spirits.
