Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (D-Calif.) addresses reporters during his weekly on-camera press conference on Friday, March 18, 2022.

If Republicans win the majority in the elections, they will remove the chairman of the Intelligence Committee from the committee, according to Kevin McCarthy.

McCarthy said at his press conference that he lied about intelligence regarding President Biden's son Hunter Biden and that he politicized the committee.

Why is he still chair of the committee and why is he still on the committee? McCarthy said that if there is a new majority, he will not be.

You can't make this committee political, you can't use it as a position of chairman to lie, and you should be focused on what the American people want you to be focused on around the world.

McCarthy has made a similar vow before. He threatened to retaliate against Democrats for their votes in the last year. He said in January that he would remove them from committees.
