The US government has effectively grounded nearly 100 planes with ties to Russia, including one owned by Roman Abramovich.
The planes are in violation of US sanctions.
It says that providing service to these aircraft anywhere in the world may lead to heavy fines and jail time.

According to reports, Mr. Abramovich has strong ties to Russian President Putin.
In a statement, the department said that any work done on any of the aircraft violates US export controls.
Gina Raimondo said the move was in response to Russia's brutal war of choice against Ukraine.
She said that they were publishing the list to put the world on notice that they would not allow Russian and Belarusian companies to travel with impunity.
violators face fines, jail time, and other restrictions, according to the department.
The regulations apply to any aircraft that has more than 25% US-origin content that was re-exported to Russia after new controls came into effect.
International flights from Russia on these aircraft are effectively grounded because they are prevented from receiving any service.
Graves said the US government hoped the move highlighted Russia's isolation from the global economy.
He said that their actions were not meaningless words or dead letters on the page.
