Jon Heyman of MLB Network and Audacy Sports provided more insight into the decision-making process that will lead to a decision on whether or not to sign with Boston, San Francisco, or two other unnamed teams.

Superstar SS Trevor Story choosing one of 4 teams soon. Giants, Red Sox and 2 others remain in mix. Prioritizing winning. Apparently considering a short-term positional move, if necessary.

Story hit.251 with 24 home runs last season. He has spent all six of his MLB campaigns with the Colorado Rockies.

According to Heyman, the Boston Red Sox were interested in Story after losing out to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the bidding for first baseman Freddie Freeman.

Story would likely have to move to second base, with the exception of the fact that he would have to switch to the other side of the ball. Heyman mentioned the Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins as possibilities.

Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic gave an insight on how Story would fit on the Giants roster if he were willing to play multiple positions.

If Trevor Story is willing to Chris Taylor his way through 2022, he really would fit the Giants roster well. https://t.co/DxhYutdmw5

Boston and San Francisco are good places to start if Story wants to win.

The Red Sox made it to the American League Championship Series, where they lost to the Houston Astros. The Giants finished with the best record in baseball but lost to the Dodgers in the playoffs.

Story would help the team maintain its status as one of the best. Over the past six seasons, he has averaged 34 home runs and a lifetime.863 OPS.

With the April 7 opening day fast approaching, both the Boston and San Francisco teams are looking to bolster their batting order.
