It is hard to escape the Dyson Airwrap online. Makeup artists gush about its powers all over the internet. You might want to hold off on investing in one. Dyson will be releasing a new version of the Airwrap later this summer that will be able to curl hair in both directions. The new Airwrap will cost $600.
The Airwrap is a hair curler that uses the Coanda effect instead of heat. It uses a high-pressure motor to pull the hair onto the barrel, allowing users to style their hair with air, while reducing the risk of heat damage. If you have ever seen it in action, it almost looks like hair is on the barrel.
If you wanted to change up the curl patterns, you had to switch out the attachment. You don't always want to curl in the same direction across your head. The second iteration of the Airwrap will allow you to switch directions by twisting the flow switch on the tip of the barrel. The barrels come in different lengths, in 30mm, 40mm, 30mm, 40mm, and 20mm.
The new Airwrap will supposedly work faster and come with a bunch of new attachments. The new Coanda smoothing dryer seems to bring the Dyson Supersonic attachment to the Airwrap. The idea is to hide flyaways while taking your hair from wet to damp. Soft and firm brushes are now used for straighter styles.
There is some good news if you have already paid for the original Airwrap. If you upgrade to the new attachment, you don't have to buy another version of the Airwrap. When this summer it will launch, it is still up in the air.
Dyson's hair gadgets have been more expensive. The question of whether the tech in the gadgets is worth the hundreds of dollars each one costs is posed by most reviews. The Supersonic hair dryer costs $400, while the Corrale hair straightener costs $500. The Airwrap is constantly going out of stock despite the steep price. The beauty influencers are losing their marbles over the news.
