Blackmore was the first female rider to win the Gold Cup when A Plus Tard triumphed.

Blackmore wanted to put things right after the pair finished second to Minella.

Blackmore made no mistake this time, moving ahead of Minella Indo after the last and racing clear.

Protektorat was second at 10-1.

Blackmore knew that the Gold Cup had been within her grasp last year despite her wins at the Champion Hurdle and Aintree Grand National.

Minella Indo andRobbie Power made the first decisive move and grabbed the lead from home in a closely-contested race.

A Plus Tard waited patiently before taking the lead and, once he did, there was only going to be one winner and the pair went on to win by 15 lengths.

I can't believe it. Blackmore said that he was lucky to be riding all these kind of horses.

You can't do this without the horses and being attached to Henry's yard is amazing. I don't know what to say about this horse.

I have had many special days. This is the Gold Cup, not the Grand National. I would like to have something better to say right now. I can not.

You have all the plans for how things will work out. Racing doesn't allow that to happen all the time and it happened to me today. I don't know how to explain how lucky I feel.

More to come.
