Mark Wood
Mark Wood took 1-45 for England in the first Test against West Indies

Mark Wood has been ruled out of the remainder of the West Indies tour and the Indian premier league with a right elbow injury.

The injury began on the third day of the first Test in Antigua.

He will return home next week to get a specialist opinion on his injury after scans confirmed a problem.

Wood was going to play for the Lucknow Super Giants.

He will take a break from cricket while he waits for the elbow specialist's opinion.

If a replacement is called up, the third Test will be held in Grenada from 24-28 March.

James Anderson and Stuart Broad were left out of the tour of the Caribbean.

Liam Norwell, 30, is expected to be called up if required, and neither is understood to be on the list of reserves.

Wood was only able to bowl 17 overs in the first Test of the series because he was injured on the third day.

He was in the nets before the start of the final day of play, but was in pain and did not feature.

The second Test began on Wednesday and he was replaced by Saqib Mahmood.

Wood played in four of the five Ashes Tests in Australia in the winter despite having struggled with injury in the past.

He was a member of the white-ball side in the T20 World Cup and the T20 tour of South Africa.

England are in a commanding position in the second Test as they begin day three with a first-innings lead over West Indies.
