Porsche is updating the world on its financial results and its plans to remain relevant in a world that is clearly not going to survive climate change. The German luxury brand said that it had seen a jump in sales and that there was a lot of interest in its models. For the third year in a row, the pure-EV Taycan line of cars sold more units than the flagship of the brand. The Macan and Cayenne SUVs sold more units than both of them. The company wants 80 percent of its sales to be all-electric by the year 2030. A new version of the mid-engine 718 will be released in an all-electric form at some point in the future. It won't be until we get an electric Carrera and Cayenne that we will see the full extent of the commitment of the company. The closer we get to the end of this decade, the more the baby steps will translate into action. The company has experience in this area, after launching a high-profile charging station in Leipzig. It's something that has been talked about by both stablemates, and was shown off by AUDI last year. The company said it is looking to get new, high- performance battery cells from Cellforce which are due to begin shipping in 2024.
