Lawro's predictions

The FA Cup has already been won by Forest, so are they going to win it again next season?

The Reds will travel to the City Ground in the quarter-finals on Sunday, hoping to avoid the fate of the two teams that lost there in the third and fourth rounds.

Mark Lawrenson said that the place will be rocking.

I'm not sure what team he will start with, but he might need to use his insurance policy to call upon a few of the bigger names on the bench.

Lawro is making predictions for all the top-flight matches this season, against a variety of guests.

Mez Green is the leader of punk band LIFE and a lifelong fan of the Reds.

Life has a new song called Big Moon Lake and the Hull band will release their third album in June.

LIFE
"We've written our new album all about Hull - everyone who is around us and supported us over the years, because it has meant a lot to us," says Mez.

Mez was born in Lincoln but he considers Hull to be his hometown because he has grown up there.

When I started supporting them in the 1990s, they were still one of the teams you chose from in the playground, even though they weren't amazing.

My dad told me that my Gran was from the area and it made sense. Michael Owen was an inspiration to me because he was so young when he broke on to the scene.

I guess that is how I came to choose the club, and I have been a fan ever since.

LIFE
LIFE start a tour of the UK this summer and then hit Europe in the autumn. "It will be great to be back on the road," Mez said. "The last proper shows we did were in March 2020, when we flew back from America and we haven't played abroad since then."

Owen was Mez's first hero, but as he got older, he found a new favorite.

He said that Stevie G was just class and that it started out as Owen.

I will never forget the 2006 FA Cup final when he scored at the end and the 2005 European Championship final when he scored with his head, but he was massive for me for many years.

I love many of our current players too. I am a huge fan of Trent Alexander-Arnold and he is my favourite.

There is the way we play, with press, pace and flair, and the way he is so passionate and charismatic as well. He can be upset when he loses but which fan does that to him? How can I not love him?

Snapshot of the top of the Premier League: 1st Man City, 2nd Liverpool, 3rd Chelsea, 4th Arsenal, 5th Man Utd & 6th West Ham

There is no sign of any unhappiness with the recent results. The Reds moved to within a point of Manchester City after their ninth league win in a row.

If someone steps on it, it has gone, as Klopp said afterwards, it is as fragile as a flower.

We have some big games coming up, including at City on 10 April.

The quadruple is still on, which is incredible, but getting past Forest is going to be hard enough, I am really worried about that one first.

FRIDAY

Wolves v Leeds

Wolves v Leeds (Premier League, 20:00 GMT)

There is live commentary on Radio 5 Live.

A huge win forLeeds overNorwich last weekend. It was a strange end to the game, but it will give them a lift, and they really needed it.

Wolves are having a very good season and we saw why in their win overEverton last time out - they are very well organised and generally keptEverton at arms length.

I still think teams can get to Wolves, and I think Patrick Bamford is a threat now that he's fit.

KalvinPhillips and Liam Cooper have been out for more than three months, but they should play a part in the game.

Lawro predicted a score of 1-2.

This is a draw. Wolves are having a good season, but the new manager of Leeds is doing a good job. I think some of the top teams would be after a few of their players if they went down, and I would havePhillips atLiverpool, definitely, because he is so solid in the centre. It was a one-sided affair.

SATURDAY

Aston Villa v Arsenal

Aston Villa v Arsenal (Premier League, 12:30 GMT)

The game swung on Alisson's save from Martin Odegaard after Thiago's poor back-pass. Despite their defeat, Gabriel Martinelli, Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey all played well.

This is a completely different test. It will be interesting to see how Mikel Arteta's side respond now that their five-game winning run is over, and I think this game will tell us a lot about them.

This is a new territory for most of them and we don't know how they will react as they look to hang on to fourth spot.

I have been impressed by them in recent weeks, despite their defeat by West Ham at the weekend. I don't think there is much between the two teams at the moment.

Lawro's prediction was 2-1.

Mez predicted that I would go with Villa and that Steven Gerrard would continue the victory parade over the Gunners a little bit longer. 2-1

Middlesbrough v Chelsea

Middlesbrough v Chelsea (FA Cup quarter-final, 17:15 GMT)

Thomas Tuchel deserves a lot of credit for how he has handled everything that has happened at the club in the past couple of weeks.

I am not sure if it is as dramatic as some reports in the media are saying, but at first the travel expenses of the team were being capped, and I was reading how they faced that. Did you see the luxury coaches they travel on?

It is not like the crisis that Middlesbrough faced in the 1980's when the gates of their old Ayresome Park ground were locked because of their mounting debts, but it has brought a reaction from the players, and it is circle the wagons time.

That's why I think Tuchel's team can get through this tie.

They have had a great time in the FA Cup so far, but their run ends here.

Lawro predicted 1-2.

Mez thinks that they can beat Chelsea as well as Spurs and United. I want to back a giant-killer, but I am not going to back Forest.

SUNDAY

Crystal Palace v Everton

Crystal Palace v Everton (FA Cup quarter-final, 12:30 BST)

There is live commentary on Radio 5 Live.

Who did they beat?
5R: Stoke (C) H5R Boreham Wood (NL) H
4R: Hartlepool (L2) H4R: Brentford (PL) H
3R: Millwall (C) A3R: Hull (C) A

I think another win would be good for the team, even though they are struggling at the bottom of the league table.

This is a chance for them to build some confidence after everything went wrong for them. Frank Lampard has had enough bad news and won't field a weakened team after that.

No matter who picks, this is still a very difficult tie.

Crystal Palace lost to Manchester City on Monday, but they have lost only one of their past nine games.

The last time the Eagles made the last four of the FA Cup was in 1995 and they lost in the final. This is a great chance for Patrick Vieira's side to progress because of their poor travel record.

Lawro's prediction was 0-1.

Mez predicted that I would back Palace here. I think they have a bit of energy. The FA Cup meant a lot to him as a player and I can see him wanting to go to Wembley. I think Palace will win. 2-0.

Leicester v Brentford

Leicester v Brentford (Premier League, 14:00 BST)

The commentary is on the website.

I always thought that beating two of the sides below them inNorwich andBurnley would be a huge step towards safety. The team looks completely different now that Christian Eriksen is on board.

I feel like the loss of Evans is a big one for them at the back.

Brendan Rodgers won't get much chance to work on his issues, particularly facing set-pieces, as the Foxes played in Rennes on Thursday night, so I can see the Bees making it three wins in a row.

Lawro predicted 1-2.

Ivan Toney is back bagging goals and the return of Christian Eriksen is just a brilliant story in itself. I think they will win this one. 0-1

Southampton v Man City

Southampton v Man City (FA Cup quarter-final, 15:00 BST)

You can watch live on the following websites. There is live commentary on Radio 5 Live.

Who did they beat?
5R: West Ham (PL) H5R: Peterborough (C) A
4R: Coventry (C) H4R: Fulham (C) H
3R: Swansea (C) A3R: Swindon (L2) A

Saints have given Manchester City a good game twice this season, but have lost their way a bit recently.

They will not come into this game with the same confidence they had earlier in the year, because of three successive defeats.

I don't think the draw at Crystal Palace was a bad result, it was only made to look bad because of the other teams winning.

I was a bit surprised that the game was not changed by attacking substitution, instead, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling were left on the bench.

It seemed odd that the opposition would think differently about the match when the bench was used by Klopp.

Lawro's prediction was 0-2.

Last season, Danny Ings beat us at our place when he scored the winner for Saints, and they were a problem team for us as well. I think Saints will be quite defensive but I think City will edge it. 1-2

Tottenham v West Ham

Tottenham v West Ham (Premier League, 16:30 BST)

There is live commentary on Radio 5 Live.

I don't think they played badly in their loss to Manchester United last weekend, and they were decent in their win over Seagulls on Wednesday.

I think the tie with Sevilla will have taken a lot out of West Ham because they are in European action on Thursday. That is the reason I am going with a Spurs win.

Lawro's prediction was 2-1.

Harry Kane is back in the goals for Spurs because he wants to play in the playoffs next season. West Ham have been great, but their squad is small and they have lost one of their best players in Jarrod Bowen, who is out with an injury. 2-0.

Nottingham Forest v Liverpool

Nottingham Forest v Liverpool (FA Cup quarter-final, 18:00 BST)

Who did they beat?
5R: Huddersfield (C) H5R: Norwich (PL) H
4R: Leicester (PL) H4R: Cardiff (C) H
3R: Arsenal (PL) H3R: Shrewsbury (L1) H

I think he will keep rotating his team because his squad has gotten him this far in all four major competitions.

That will give Forest more hope, and they do have a clever manager in Steve Cooper, and I would be surprised if he wasn't playing in the premier league next season.

It is going to be close, but it is hard to back anyone to beat them at the moment.

Lawro predicted 0-1.

Mez thinks that the FA Cup is a good competition because it has no replays and you know it will be decided on the day. It adds to the danger when you are away from home. I am not going for an upset here. 1-2

Lawro and Mez were talking to Chris Bevan.

How did Lawro do last time?

Lawro got five correct results from 10 games last weekend, for a total of over 100 points.
