Von Miller didn't smile until the contract was signed and his decision became reality. Von Miller felt like Von Miller again.

Miller signed a six-year, $120 million contract with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday. $51 million is fully guaranteed in the deal.

He said the decision to come to Buffalo was not easy despite the large deal for the eight-time Pro Bowler. The team that acquired him from the Denver Broncos was the one that won the Super Bowl.

Miller said it was hard to walk away from what makes Donald. What they are doing here is very special. The Bills are going to win a Super Bowl without me. They have built an amazing team.

Miller contemplated a return to the Broncos when he decided where to go. The decision-making process was more difficult than he thought.

Miller said that he was expecting you to win the Super Bowl and then go back to the Rams. It came down to the very end, but it was tough.

The process was compared to something that was close to home.

It's... Miller said that he felt like he let the Rams down. I go about my business the same way. This was the only time in my life where I had to make a decision.

The Super Bowl 50 Most Valuable Player credited a number of Rams players and members of the coaching and front office staff for his decision to move to Los Angeles. The future Pro Football Hall of Famer was traded away from the franchise that he spent his entire career with and found that being with the Rams refreshed him.

Donald and the rest of the Rams defense had a dominating postseason as well. He finished the playoffs with four sacks and 18 pressures, tied for the most in the playoffs with Donald, and held quarterbacks to a 0.7 total QBR on those plays.

Miller said after taking his time to make the decision and talking to everyone he could, it was coming to the Bills specifically that was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

When I left Denver and went to LA, I said I was not going back. Miller said that it had to be something special. It had to be the Buffalo Bills. The Bills Mafia was what they created here. I was drawn away from that environment that they created here. The weather is not going to be a factor. The weather will be what it is. I had to be a part of that, what they are doing in this facility, what they are doing in this community, what they are doing on the football field.

Miller thought he would be drafted by the Bills with the third overall pick, but the Broncos swooped in and took him second overall.

The team's needs for this type of player became clear towards the end of the 2021 season, as Sean McDermott said that getting Miller as a member of this defense was a chance to bring in a player that doesn't come around everyday.

This was an opportunity for us to get our hands on one in Von and it is not every year that you can get a player like that at that position.
