The X-Men in their finery, heading to the Hellfire Gala.

It's time! The X-men Hellfire Gala is an annual celebration of the Krakoan Age. I, a stan who loves fashion, couldn't be happier. Is it possible to follow all these comics? Comixology has destroyed my will to live. Do I like supporting my favorite artists when they get money from the comic book company to make superhero dresses? Absolutely. Let's get at it.

Stark is giving us nothing. Tony showing up in his usual look and rocking it, but son, spend some money on clothing, please. Are you talking about jeans? Even if it is hologram, a red jacket? Tony, please! You didn't understand the assignment on a fundamental level. This is your chance. What is that reactor on your belt? That is so dangerous! I don't want to be Tony's date. I would run away from the open bar and try to get Pepper to dance with me.

If I knocked Tony, I have to knock you too. What is the jean-on-jean look? Who approved this outfit? I think that hair looks good after hours. I like this vibe, but is it appropriate for a Gala? I don't think so. We wouldn't even go because we would end up eating from the food truck in the park. It would be an amazing night, but only if we spent the evening alone.

Marauders #4 Hellfire Gala variant cover by Russell Dauterman

This one was very painful. I love him. He has some cool shoes, but he is ready to go out into the field. You're going to the red carpet, but this is a rad superhero outfit? I love the cover, but it would be the worst date because he would be in the corner talking to his team the whole time, and I wouldn't be able to see it. He would be the first person on the dance floor if he wasn't trying to save the world.

There is a lot to like in this illustration. A good way to amplify the outfit is by using the powers of the superhero. The sparklers are brilliant. The hair? That's amazing. Wanda looks great. She looks like she just got back from a mission. There are a few extras to this suit. I don't think she's off the clock. She's here, but she's waiting for a call that says she needs to leave to save the world.

X-Men Red #4 Hellfire Gala variant cover by Jen Bartel

Is this outfit sickening? Yes. Does she look great? Yes. Would I have expected more from Jean? Yes. This is a pretty simple look for her. She's here to have a great time, she's not here to show off. I would match in a patterned green suit, which is not my color, but I would make it work. We would have a good time, and I would drop her off at home.

I'm not going to deny that this is a bold look for Scott. He is experimenting with his fashion and I support that. He is moving away from his costume colors. The fusion of East and West fashion is on the rise. This look hurts. Is Scott dressed himself? No. I'm his date, but I'm not the person who chose this outfit for him. He is low on the list because he doesn't like me.

Immortal X-Men #4 Hellfire Gala variant cover by Meghan Hetrick

This is a great elevation of her casually sexy outfits, and I love all the cutouts here. The gold details here are wonderful, and I adore the subtle snowflake implications. I would not mind being her date, but she would ignore me most of the party, and I would probably not have a good time.

Knights of X #3 Hellfire Gala variant cover by Mahmud Asrar

Look at her. Look at the outfit. When you cover your mouth with a handkerchief so nobody can see you smirk, it's because this is a dress that you wear to your husband's funeral. I love everything about this. The punk-esque hair, the feathers, and the bright red earrings. We would show up in matching lace, but I would be in a suit with green-lace cutouts, and we would gossip at every opportunity. A glass of wine would be thrown when we were confronted about our mess. We headline the tabloids.

X-Force #29 Hellfire Gala variant cover by Miguel Mercado

I have to respect a man who shows that much thigh, who literally shows up to a party in just a jacket and knee-high boots. That bow on top is a bold choice. It was perfect! There is an element of camp that I like. I mean... yellow fringe? Get it. He is the kind of date who would make sure I always had a drink, but also try to make sure everyone else had a drink as well. I would deal with it because he is clearly a gentleman.

Avengers #57 Hellfire Gala variant cover by Carmen Carnero

This is a classic look. I love a practical boot and Pinstripes are always a good choice, to say nothing of the double-breasted waistcost. We would come in looking like we owned the building, if not the whole block, because of the color scheme. There is something really good about this horrible haircut that I just vibe with. He is the kind of date who wouldn't talk much, and would prefer to be somewhere else.

Wolverine #22 Hellfire Gala variant cover by Russell Dauterman

You might be surprised. I am surprised. There is something about this look that makes me go a little crazy. She would wrap a sheer curtain around her waist as she looked around her apartment. It would be perfect. Would we make it to the Gala? Maybe not, but that's fine. We would have a great time, and then we would arrive late, accidentally destroy an ice sculpture, and create chaos for an hour before we were thrown out. The stuff of dreams.

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #2 Hellfire Gala variant cover by Mateus Manhanini

Sam Wilson? In this look? Absolutely. 100%. The man looks great, he has no notes. Those shoulders? Those glasses are red? The 80s vibes are killing me right now. There isn't much about this look. It's wonderful. The carpet would be torn up by me and Sam. I bet this boy can dance and seduce anyone within 15 feet. No question, number one.

Wondering where our feed went? The new one can be picked up here.
