Trubisky joined the Pittsburgh Steelers and it was a no-brainer.

Trubisky told his agent that he wanted to be in Pittsburgh.

Trubisky said they didn't have to make a pitch to him or sell him anything.

My goal throughout free agency was to find a way to get back on the field and to win a starting job in order to use my talents on the field.

Trubisky signed his two-year deal on Thursday. It could be worth as much as $27 million with incentives. According to a source, the Steelers guaranteed just $5.25 million.

The two-year deal is a chance for Trubisky to get back on track after a rocky start to his career.

He said that he was in a situation where he had to prove himself. You always bet on yourself, and I am in this case.

You have to bet on yourself and trust what you can do.

Trubisky is joined in the quarterback room by another former first-round pick in Mason Rudolph. Trubisky is expected to compete for the starting job.

He said he was looking forward to earning a spot and earning the trust of his teammates. I will be on the field with these guys and show them what I have.

Trubisky was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2017 draft and was selected to the Pro Bowl after a 12-4 season and 24 touchdown to 12 interception. He only won 14 games as a starter over the next two seasons, and the Bears offense struggled to find consistency.

Trubisky said his time in Chicago was just a learning experience. It is time to move on to the next chapter. All you can do is continue to work for your future, but use your past experiences to make sure the future goes better.

The Buffalo Bills signed Trubisky to a one-year deal after the Bears declined to pick up his fifth-year option.

In Buffalo, Trubisky learned what he wanted out of a team and an organization.

It was a blessing in disguise, Trubisky said of his time in Buffalo.

Culture wins. When I was in Buffalo, I could tell it was going to be a great fit with the culture. I am excited to contribute to that. It was a huge year for me in Buffalo, just to take a reset and get my mind right and continue to hone my skills and just get ready for the next opportunity.

Trubisky believes his skill set works well with Canada's play-action sets after studying his scheme. Trubisky had 833 rushing yards on scrambles, which was the fifth-most among all quarterbacks.

He said he was looking forward to using his dual-threat abilities within the offense.

James Daniels, who played with Trubisky in Chicago, and Levi Wallace, who played with Trubisky in Buffalo, are two of the familiar faces the quarterback is joining.

Wallace said thatMitch is a great guy on and off the field. A professional. I loved being on his team. He did a lot for the team and the organization. I am happy to see a familiar face here.

I am happy to have him on my team. We are ready to get to work.
