Fans of Resident Evil and the zombie apocalypse genre will be happy to know that a live-action remake is on the way. The series, which takes place 14 years after a virus causes the apocalypse, will premiere on July 14th. The new show is not an adaptation of the video game Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which was released on the platform last summer.

Lance Reddick will play Albert Wesker, the police captain who turns out to be a villain who is going to destroy humanity. He is a family man. The Worst Witch and Charlie's Angels' Ella Balinska have both been cast in the series. Also starring in the show is Siena Agudong, who plays No Good Nick, and other actors.

We don't know much about the plot, but here is what Deadline has gathered so far. The show takes place in 2036, 14 years after the world was ravaged by a zombie outbreak. Jade Wesker, the show's main character, has yet to find out her dad is an evil genius who works for the Umbrella Corporation, the Big pharma company from the video game that develops bioweapons for militaries around the world.

The show is set in New Racoon City, which was destroyed by a T-virus outbreak. The live-action series features promo stills of the Tyrant virus, which turns humans into blood-thirsty zombies. The show follows the Wesker daughter as she tries to understand what her father actually does for a living. We will find out more about New Racoon City once the trailer for it is released.
